JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO GO BACK IN THE WATER...

The mad crafter is BACK!

I do apologise for the radio silence of late but I've been beavering away in the background, fully immersed in a frenzy of sample making ready for PaperArtsy's amazing series of launches next week. Don't miss them. I can tell you there are some truly fantastic goodies coming your way, and a few surprises along the way too so keep your eyes peeled on the PaperArtsy blog around 7pm every night next week. You won't be disappointed.

To add to the general frenzy of excitement, That's Crafty (my second home ;oD)  have been adding to their ranges and there are some really exciting substrates and stencils I just HAD to have. I've been longing to try out some stained glass effects on acrylic and these Lynne Perella Stamps are just perfect for the job

I've used three of That's Crafty's gorgeous acrylic tag shapes here and, even though I've used the more translucent shades of  Fresco Paints to colour all the images, the light just bounces through beautifully, giving the impression of stained glass windows.

This is just placed in front of my bathroom window and you can see the lovely soft glow you get. It's like candlelight....beautiful!

Using a couple of the opaque shades of Fresco Paints, I distressed the back to look like a bit like an old plastered wall. It intensifies the colour on the front, covers up my workings a bit on the tag and looks pretty cool to boot.

These smaller images from Lynn's sets are so useful. I've used one of That's Crafty's Dinky Stencil's to add the gold stars to the top which adds to the feel of illumated text.

I love these  brick stencils. They're perfect as a backdrop for my stained glass window. In fact they're useful for SO MANY things that I'm afraid they're going to be popping up on various projects for weeks to come.

That's all for today. Have a great weekend and I hope to see you in the week when, at long last, we can all share with you what we've been working on all this time.

Lx
